2008 Hot Rod Magazine's
Hot Rod Power Tour!

Over the June 6th weekend, thousands of hot rods, classics and customs rolled into Little Rock, Arkansas for Hot Rod Magazine's Hot Rod Power Tour. Little Rock was the "kick-off" city for the tour, and it was a huge success. The Arkansas State Fairgrounds turned into a sea of beautiful paint and chrome as the participants entered the park and covered up every inch of real estate that the venue had to offer.
On Friday evening, cruisers lined-up at 6:00 pm for the 2nd Annual Cruisapalooza's structured parade that went from the from the fairgrounds to downtown Little Rock's River Market District and Riverfront Park. Cruisapalooza is an early celebration and thank you to the thousands of out-of-state visitors and Arkansans that arrived in Little Rock for the Hot Rod Power Tour. Many spectators lined the parade route waiting anxiously for the cruisers to pass by, and they were not disappointed. Once the parade reached its destination, everyone else merged into the park and the celebration began with live entertainment provided by CRISIS!, plus door prizes, face painting, head-gear balloons and much more.
The CAMS Club, Central Arkansas Corvette Club and the Vertically Challenged car clubs were the support team for Hot Rod Power Tour registration on Friday and Saturday at the fairgrounds, and they all did an outstanding job. Many of the participants commented on how organized registration was this year and could not believe how friendly everyone was. I might add it was extremely hot both days, particularly in the registration tents, but this team never skipped a beat – forever appreciative of you all!
The Little Rock Police Department should receive a golden star for their performance all weekend! The Cruisapalooza parade was perfect and the security management of the celebration afterwards was superb. They came right back on Saturday for Hot Rod Magazine's Power Tour activities at the fairgrounds and provided awesome traffic control in and out of the park. The huge test would be the tour's exit on Sunday morning and they handled that without an issue. Thank you so much.
